Sharon Sandomirsky

Sharon Sandomirsky began playing traditional music in the Durham North
Carolina area in the early 1970s as a member of the Fuzzy Mountain String
Band. She performed and recorded with several traditional musicians
including Tommy Jarrell, Fred Cockerham, and Clyde Davenport.  She co-wrote
the liner notes for the County label albums of Tommy Jarrel and The Blue Sky
Boys.  After Co-founding Sugar Hill Records in 1978, she worked with the
label for 10 years.
In 1987 she began playing music with Alice Gerrard and Gail Gillespie as the
"Herald Angels".  Beginning in 1989, she served on the board of the Old Time
Music Group which publishes the Old Time Herald. In 1991  she moved to
Austin, TX and continued playing with "The Herald Angels" as well as the
Austin-based ( all-girl) "Decibelles," Texas a la Moag, Health and Happiness
and the Big Ernie Trio. For several years she has hosted traditional music
programs on community radio KOOP 91.7.


Sharon, Alice Gerrard and Gail Gillespie recorded the "Herald Angels" in
1993. And just released "Alice, Gail and Sharon: The Road to Agate Hill" in
2007 on the 5-string Production label.
<<<<Some of the bands Sharon has played with since moving to Austin TX in
1991 are: The Decibelles, Texas a la Moag, Health and Happiness, along with
Big Ernie's Barn Dance Band.
