Steve's Page

Steve Lewis has played the 5-string banjo most of his adult life. Pete Seeger¹s “Children¹s Concert at Town Hall” attracted his attention, and a live concert by master, old-time fiddler Tommy Jarrell and banjoist Blanton Owen set the hook. Since that time Steve has been a regular contestant, performer, and instructor at festivals and fiddler¹s conventions from San Diego to San Francisco. For over twelve years Steve produced and played for the monthly contra dance in  Brentwood. He continues to play banjo for dances and leads an old-time music jam on the first Sunday of each month at the CTMS Folk Music Center in Encino. Steve denies rumors of banjo obsession
Steve lives in the Los Angeles area and can be reached at this address..
